More than a card, it’s a comprehensive repository of registrants’ demographic and biometric details. Each PhilID is assigned a unique PhilSys Card Number (PCN) for added security, emphasizing the commitment to privacy.

PhilSys ID number
PhilSys Number (PSN), a unique and randomly generated 12-digit permanent identification number, is assigned to citizens or resident aliens upon successful PhilSys registration. Tokenized as the PhilSys Card Number (PCN) on the PhilID, the PSN is safeguarded to prevent misuse and identity fraud. Remember, the PSN is confidential and should only be shared with PSA or when legally allowed.

Currently, the online Step 1 website for PhilSys registration is temporarily disabled for a smoother and more convenient registration process. To complete your registration, please gather your supporting documents and visit the PhilSys registration center located near you.
Requirements
To complete your PhilSys registration successfully, please ensure to bring the following supporting documents when you visit a PhilSys registration center.
Primary supporting documents
The registrant is advised to bring any of the following primary documents:
- PSA-issued Certificate of Live Birth and one (1) government-issued identification document which bears a full name, front-facing photograph, and signature or thumb mark;
- Philippine Passport or ePassport issued by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA);
- Unified Multi-purpose Identification (UMID) Card issued by the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) or Social Security System (SSS); or
- Student’s License Permit or Non-Professional/Professional Driver’s License issued by the LTO.
Please be aware that in cases where there are discrepancies between the PSA-issued Certificate of Live Birth and the government-issued ID presented, the PSA-issued Certificate of Live Birth will be regarded as a secondary supporting document.

In the absence of the mentioned documents above, the registrant may choose to bring the following secondary documents:
- PSA-issued Certificate of Live Birth/National Statistics Office (NSO)-issued Certificate of Live Birth with Birth Reference Number (BreN);
- Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO)-issued Certificate of Live Birth;
- PSA-issued Report of Birth;
- PSA-issued Certificate of Foundling;
- Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Identification Card;
- Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) ID;
- Seaman’s Book (Seafarer’s Record Book);
- Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) ID;
- Senior Citizen’s lD issued by the Office of Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) and/or LocalGovernment Units (LGU);
- Social Security System (SSS) lD;
- Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) ID;
- License to Own or Possess Firearms (LTOPF);
- National Bureau of Investigation (NBl) Clearance;
- Police Clearance/ID;
- Solo Parent’s ID;
- Person with Disability (PWD) lD issued by the National Council of Disability Affairs (NCDA) or its regional counterpart, Office of the Mayor, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Office and other participating organizations with a Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Health (DOH);
- Voter’s lD issued by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC);
- Postal lD issued by the Philippine Postal Corporation (PhlPost);

- PhilHealth ID;
- Special Resident Retiree’s Visa (SRRV) issued by the Philippine Retirement Authority (PRA);

- Professional Identification Card issued by the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA);
- Eligibility Card issued by the Civil Service Commission;
- Dependent’s lD issued by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Philippine National Police (PNP)
- Retiree’s lD issued by the PNP, AFP and Philippine Coast Guard (PCG);
- Conductor’s License issued by the LTO;
- Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO) Pensioner’s lD (Veteran or Dependent);
- Seafarer’s ldentity Document (Seaman’s lD);
- Tribal Certificate/lD issued by the Tribal Affairs Office under the Office of the Mayor (if applicable);
- Certificate of Confirmation issued by the National Commission on lndigenous Peoples (NCIP) or Certificate of lndigenous Cultural Communities (lCCs)/lndigenous Peoples (lPs) Membership (CIPM) issued by the Tribal Leader of ICC/IP; or
- Certificate of Tribalmembership issued by the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF).
The subsequent identification papers will be considered as secondary supporting documents if they include a front-facing photograph, signature/thumbmark, full name, permanent address, and date of birth.

PhilSys check
The PhilSys Check or the PhilSys ✓ (read as Check), is an online platform utilizing public-private key cryptography. This technology enables both the general public and relying parties to verify the authenticity of the PhilID/ePhilID’s QR Code.
Verification through the PhilSys Check involves examining the digital signature embedded in the PhilSys QR code. The PhilID/ePhilID is considered valid if the system successfully verifies the digital signature, providing demographic information, PCN, and the best capture fingerprint.
The PhilSys Check is categorized as an offline authentication method under Section 12 of the revised Implementing Rules and Regulations of Republic Act (RA) No. 11055.
Here’s a simple guide on how to use PhilSys Check:
- visit the official site of the PhilSys check
- once on the PhilSys Check website, click on the “CLICK TO SCAN QR CODE” button
- allow the website to access your device’s camera
- choose the scanning mode based on your device: camera for built-in or external cameras, or barcode scanner for devices with a scanner
- click the camera button to activate the capture screen. Ensure all four edges of the PhilID/ePhilID’s QR Code are centered
- alternatively, users can upload the image of the PhilID/ePhilID’s QR code by clicking the “choose file” button. Ensure the image (JPG or PNG) solely captures the QR code
