The eVisa system is being launched in collaboration with the IVS Global Institute and GBS Technology Service. Now, obtaining eVisas for the country is convenient through Sri Lanka’s official eVisa website. For detailed information on each type of visa offered by Sri Lanka, please refer to this document.
Effective immediately, visa fees are waived for citizens of China, India, Indonesia, Russia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Japan. This exemption is valid until the end of April 2024. Additionally, nationals from Singapore, Maldives, Czechia, and Seychelles already enjoy a fee-free application process for the standard tourist visa.
This adjustment also brings changes to certain visa fees, especially for tourists from countries outside the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). Non-SAARC tourists will now pay USD 75, a 50% increase, for a standard tourist visa. Meanwhile, citizens of SAARC nations will pay USD 35 for the same visa. For those applying for a business-oriented standard tourist visa, the fee remains USD 35 for SAARC members and USD 73 for others.
