In addition to restoring the ETA system, the Sri Lankan government has approved visa-free access for citizens of 35 countries, starting from 1 October 2024. This initiative is aimed at bolstering tourism and attracting a diverse range of international visitors, contributing to the revitalization of the nation’s economy. The countries granted visa-free entry include major tourist markets such as Saudi Arabia, India, the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, Australia, China, Russia, Japan, and South Korea.
